The Play Evaluation Toolkit
This toolkit brings together a practical set of resources for organisations delivering play-related provision in community and other non-clinical settings. It includes an outcomes framework, play-related surveys and data-collection tools, a guide to evaluating play provision, and guidance on collecting, interpreting and reporting play-related impact data.

This outcomes framework sets out the main areas of change associated with play. It explains the developmental outcomes play may support, how they were developed from the research evidence, and how organisations can use indicators to measure and report play-related outcomes consistently.

This guide provides practical tools for collecting play-related impact data across different forms of provision. Based on the outcomes framework in this toolkit, it includes parent/carer questionnaires, practitioner observation tools, play-experience and monitoring forms, and guidance on selecting, using and adapting measures to support evaluation and reporting.

This guide provides practical guidance for evaluating play-related provision across different settings and delivery models. It takes organisations through the main stages of evaluation, including auditing existing data, selecting outcomes, designing tools, sampling, collecting data, analysing findings and reporting evidence of play-related impact.
