  • The Data Collection Tools provide ready-to-use resources for gathering outcome-focused evidence. These include an Advice Survey, an Advocacy Survey, an Advice Interview and Focus Group Topic Guide, an Advocacy Interview and Focus Group Topic Guide, and a Case Study Development Form staff can use for structured client journey analysis. Each tool is directly mapped to the Advice and Advocacy Outcomes Framework, ensuring that data collected is aligned with measurable changes in client progress.

  • All tools in this section were developed using the framework’s indicators. This means that each survey question or topic prompt is rooted in a clearly defined outcome, improving the internal validity of the evaluation — that is, ensuring your data measures what it is intended to measure.

  • Surveys are typically used once (rather than pre/post) because sessions can be short, with impact taking longer to emerge. These are supported by topic guides for gathering deeper insight into client experience. These allow for a mixed-methods approach to understanding change — combining numeric data with narrative insight.
