The training covers what evaluation is and how it differs from monitoring, what impact means in practice as change in service users, and the distinction between outputs, outcomes, and impact. It introduces different types of evaluation including process, impact, and insights, and explains how to define outcomes, translate them into measurable indicators, and develop data collection tools such as surveys.

By the end of the training, users will be able to define key evaluation terms, distinguish between delivery data and impact data, identify appropriate types of evaluation for different purposes, develop outcome statements relevant to their service, translate outcomes into observable indicators, design basic data collection tools aligned to those outcomes, and understand how different types of data contribute to assessing service effectiveness.
