All surveys included in this toolkit (on the right) were developed using the residential youth services outcomes framework, ensuring that each question links directly to an intended outcome and valid indicator of change.

This makes the data they collect 'internally valid' (this means they measure what they are set out to measure and are an indicator of quality assurance).

Most of the surveys provided here are designed to be used twice — at the start and end of a young person’s journey — to measure change over time.

These surveys can be used twice - once on referral into a programme and one on exit. Analysis worksheets are also inlcuded in this toolkit to measure impact.
